The Strugatskys have a story called "Roadside Picnic" about a golden ball that can grant any wish. We often want something but can't articulate it precisely, and the universe (God or something else) steps in. Whoever believes in what) may not understand us or understand us in ways we do not want to be understood.
2004 Evening. My sister, her friend, and I are sitting at the table, discussing and sharing our secret desires. We laugh and make fun of each other in a loving and playful manner.
Each of us expresses our deepest desire: sister (the story is silent), her friend: "I want to dance until I drop, and loos my legs " (the wording is accurate to the last letter because it stuck in my memory and you will understand why ). I wished to change my life 180 degrees, not in this place, to be different both externally and internally. The universe responded by telling - get and sign.
My sister got it, but not exactly as requested. Sister's friend fell on the dance floor of a nightclub while dancing, causing her meniscus to fly out of her knee. She was transported in an ambulance.
I took a spontaneous flight from my home (near Moscow) to the other end of the map, Sakhalin Island. To change both externally and internally.
Our desires were fulfilled in a way that neither of us expected. As it says in a story mentioned before "...the golden ball only fulfills innermost desires, only such that if not fulfilled, at least hang yourself"
Make your wishes, ladies, and gentlemen, but keep in mind that they can come true!
