Creating a personal color map method

Want to better understand your emotions and their color associations? Try the ‘Creating a Personal Color Map’ technique!

Goal:

To form a basic understanding between the therapist and the client of key color associations and further analyze all the client's art products.

Instructions:

  1. Take an A4 sheet and divide it into 10 equal parts.
  2. Write one emotion from the list below on each part.
  3. Take pencils, markers, or crayons.
  4. For each emotion, choose one or two colors.
  5. In each section labeled with an emotion, create a drawing - the first thing that comes to mind. This can be lines, zigzags, or color spots.
    Avoid concrete images.

Suggested emotions:

  1. Joy
  2. Fear
  3. Growth
  4. Irritation
  5. Tension
  6. Pain
  7. Inner Strength
  8. Hurt
  9. Love
  10. Interest

Recommendations:

Surround yourself with colors that correspond to positive emotions from the list. This can be clothing, interior items, or any other elements in your environment.

P.S.

It is best to set aside time for this technique when you will not be disturbed and can fully immerse yourself in the process.
